Where can an all-terrain pram go?
Far more places than a city pram. Here’s a rough guide to getting the most out of yours.
Big tyres, every time
Big wheels, grippy tyres and good suspension keep the ride smooth over roots, ruts and wet grass. Air-filled tyres are the comfiest on really rough ground.
Wide wheels for sand
Wider, air-filled tyres sink less in soft sand. On deep sand, pull the pram behind you, and rinse the wheels after salt water.
Brakes you can trust
On steep ground, use the brake, keep the wrist strap on and walk downhills with both hands on the handlebar.

What makes a pram all-terrain?
Bigger wheels with grippy tyres, good suspension and a sturdy frame. They roll over grass, gravel, roots and mud far more easily than a city pram. Air-filled tyres give the softest ride on rough ground.
Can I use an all-terrain pram from birth?
Most of ours come with a carrycot or take a car seat, so they’re suitable from birth. Check each pram’s set-up options when you choose.
Can I take it on the beach?
Yes, though deep, soft sand is hard work for any pram. Wide air-filled tyres help most. Rinse the wheels after salt water and sand.
Can I run with an all-terrain pram?
Only if the maker says it’s designed for running, with a front wheel that locks straight and a hand brake. Have a look at our running prams if you’d like to run.
