How to choose an Ergobaby carrier

Four questions narrow it down quickly.

1. Do you want all four carry positions? The Omni 360 and Omni Breeze let your baby face in, face out, sit on your hip or ride on your back. The Aerloom does front and back carries but no hip carry.

2. Do you run hot, or is it summer? The Omni Breeze is made entirely from mesh and is Ergobaby's most breathable four-position carrier. The Aerloom's FormaKnit fabric is also light and airy.

3. How heavy is your baby, and for how long will you carry? The Omni 360 and Omni Breeze take children up to 20.4kg, around four years old. The Aerloom goes up to 15.9kg.

4. Is your baby already sitting up and wanting up and down all day? The Alta hip seat is quicker to pop a toddler in and out of than a full carrier.

It's made from FormaKnit, a stretchy, breathable knit made mostly from recycled plastic bottles, and the shoulder straps are shaped to fit closely. It does front-inward, front-outward and back carries, but not hip carry, and goes up to 15.9kg.

The Alta is a hip seat carrier for babies who want up and down all day. Your child sits on a padded shelf on your waistbelt, so you can pop them on and off in seconds, and you can add the carrier panel for longer carries facing in or out. It suits babies from about 4 months to 4 years.
